Day 1

Guests arriving at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport are assisted by an Elewana representative and transferred to their respective hotels.

Overnight at Hemingways Nairobi – Dinner and breakfast.

Day 2

Guests transfer to Wilson Airport for a flight to Amboseli National Park. Amboseli National Park lies below the most famous symbol of Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest free-standing mountain in the world, rewarding visitors with stunning views when the weather is clear.

Amboseli National Park is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephant, as well as being home to a large variety of other wildlife. One of the most notable attractions of the park is the opportunity it affords guests with being able to meet the local Maasai people and to learn about their way of life and the Maasai culture. Guests are assisted and transferred to camp for lunch and then enjoy an afternoon game drive and a sundowner.

Overnight at Tortilis Camp – Lunch, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 3

Guests spend a full day in Amboseli and enjoy the game activities on offer, including an early morning walking safari, game drives and a bush breakfast. Amboseli, from the Masai word “empusel”, meaning ‘salty, dusty place’, protects two of the five main swamps in the Loitoktok District. The park boasts a limitless supply of underground water, as a result of Mount Kilimanjaro’s ice cap. In a low-rainfall area this makes for spectacular concentration of wildlife and confirms Amboseli’s claim as one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in the world.

Overnight at Tortilis Camp – Lunch, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 4-5

Guests depart after brunch and an early morning game drive, on a scheduled flight for Meru National Park, arriving in time for high tea. Meru was one of two areas in which conservationists George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa the lioness, immortalised in their book and movie ‘Born Free’. Guests have the option of a relaxing massage or an afternoon game drive. Guests spend a full day in Meru and enjoy the game activities on offer including sundowners and a night game drive.

In the early 21st century, the Kenya Wildlife Service, aided by IFAW, restored Meru National Park from near ruin. The park is sanctuary to an impressive diversity including elephant, lion, leopard, cheetah, black rhino, and the Grevy’s zebra.

Overnight at Elsa’s Kopje – Lunch, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 6-7

Guests enjoy an early morning walking safari and lunch before departing for the Masai Mara National Reserve on a scheduled flight.

Probably most famous for the great migration, which happens from July to October, when 2 million wildebeest and zebra make their way across the Mara River. The Mara, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park is, perhaps, the only remaining region left in Kenya where animals are as prolific as they might have been more than a century ago. ‘Mara’ is the Maa word for ‘spotted’, an apt description of the flat-topped acacia and cloud shadows that mark the open savannah.

Guests are assisted on arrival and transferred to camp. The following day guests will enjoy a bush breakfast and a full day’s game viewing in the Mara. Dinner is served under the African stars.

Overnight at Sand River Masai Mara – Lunch, dinner, and breakfast.

Day 8

Guests enjoy morning game activities and lunch before the tour departs for Nairobi’s Wilson Airport, mid-afternoon. Guests are assisted on arrival and transferred to a Nairobi restaurant for dinner before transfer to a city hotel or Jomo Kenyatta International Airport for outbound departure.
