As the only person abseiling that morning, Veronica was guided from the top while another guide waited 130 metres below. For much of the descent, it was just her, the mountain, the wind and the sound of her own breathing.

Pausing along the way to take in the views, she was treated to breathtaking panoramas of Cape Town, the ocean stretching into the distance and open space beneath her.
