Operational update from K9 unit – November & December 2025

November 2025

  • Approximately 154 vehicles searched
  • 7 declared legal firearms recorded
  • 37 positive plants conducted, excluding declared firearms
  • No illegal findings or wildlife contraband recorded
  • Anti-poaching units remained on high alert following the October incident
  • No rhino poaching incidents recorded during the month
  • Decrease in private vehicle entries noted due to increased park entry fees

December 2025

  • Anti-poaching units remained on high alert
  • Approximately 90 vehicles searched
  • 3 declared legal firearms recorded
  • 30 positive plants involving rifles and ammunition conducted
  • No busts recorded
  • Reduced vehicle entries observed due to increased park entry fees
  • No illegal wildlife poaching or trade detected during the deployment period
