TDM Linked December

Dear partner in travel

Welcome to this our second edition of TDM Linked! Newsletter, aimed at keeping you, our valuable partner, updated with news and happenings within the Tourvest Destination Management (TDM) family.

Our TDM Ambassadors

We have recently embarked on a new concept of managing all our product information within Tourvest Destination Management. The concept is driven by a newly developed Extranet, which is built on the principles of Crowdsourcing and Collaborative Content Management.

How will this affect you as a product ‘supplier’ to Tourvest Destination Management?

What makes this development unique, and of interest to you, is our Product Ambassador program. Virtually every employee within the business has been assigned a group of products, for which they have been nominated as the responsible Product Ambassador. Through the Extranet interface, our Product Ambassadors have the ability, and have made the commitment, to keep the information regarding their assigned product correct and up-to-date at all times. Product Ambassadors have the ability to edit, upload and create content around their assigned products with the exclusion of rates & policies, which are always channelled through the existing procurement channel.

You may periodically be contacted by our Product Ambassador to verify and assist in creating accurate content for our databases related to your product. Our databases are linked to our reservations platform, B2B systems and XML connections to our overseas agents.

Our contracting season has begun

As we are now in the throes of contracting all our product rates for the 2012 – 2013 periods, please could you assist us in ensuring that when contacted, your rates and applicable information is ready to be issued. All rates should ideally be valid from the 1st November 2012 until 31st October 2013.

When issuing us with this information please remember to include the following:

  1. Your rates (ideally valid from 1st November 2012 until 31st October 2013)
  2. Your child and additional adult policy (room configurations)
  3. Your group policy and FOC policy
  4. Your general terms & conditions
  5. Your cancellation policy (both FIT & Groups)
  6. Adherence to the CPA.

As the South African Consumer Protection Act (CPA) has been in place since April 2011, please ensure that your contract adheres to these provisions. If any terms and conditions within your rate schedules, terms and conditions and contracts contradict the provisions of the CPA, the CPA provisions will then automatically prevail.

We thank you for your assistance.

Health and Safety procedures

We at Tourvest Destination Management are once again proving our leadership in the inbound tourism industry by launching new technology enabling us to facilitate the Health & Safety procedures for our international wholesale customers. Laborious questionnaires in varying formats for individual operators are a thing of the past: by merely filling in the questionnaire once, all of TDM’s customers will have access to the hotel’s information.

TDM customers will equally have peace of mind that the properties utilised by TDM and its brands adhere to international Health and Safety standards.

Invitations to participate in the survey will be sent to the General Managers of every TDM contracted property individually.

The TDM team.
